WATERPROOF

Waterproof means that water will not penetrate the through the garment. Our outerwear is made from waterproof fabric and if we say its 'Waterproof' this also means how it is made is also waterproof, i.e. for some where we stitch the fabric together (and make lots of little holes in the fabric) we put a tape behind it to stop the water coming through. 

For our Fisherman's Jackets, the fabric is not stitched but bonded, i.e. stuck together at the seams making them waterproof.

You could sit in a puddle and in a waterproof garment it should not come through.

SHOWERPROOF

Showerproof means that the fabric used to make the garment is waterproof however the construction means the holes in the seams make it likely water will get in. It should protect from a light rain or shower but isnt recommended for heavy rain fall or for sitting in puddles.

BREATHABLE

Breathable means that the fabric is made tight enough to keep water out but open enough to still let air in and out. This helps the children stay comfortable and prevents them from getting sweaty.

PERFORMANCE POLARFLEECE

Polyester insulating fabric. Soft, light and easy to care for its commonly used for jackets, hats and lightweight performance outerwear. We have developed our own recycled polarfleece fabric made from plastic bottles. It has a water repellent coating which assists in showers

ANTI PILL

Fabric which has been treated to minimise the ‘bobbling’ effect which comes with wash & wear, for example our Perofmance Polarfleece.

FISHERMAN'S JACKET - BOBBLING

This bonded style is waterproof and breathable. It is because of the breathability that we occasionally see a small, temporary distortion in the surface of the jacket when wet and drying. It returns to original condition once dry. This is nothing to worry about and is the nature of the item. It is not faulty and you do not need to log a QC ticket.
